I opened TEAL Hair Design because I wanted to not only create a warm, friendly and relaxing space, where guests could come and let their hair down (no pun intended!) and enjoy some down-time from their busy lives. But also a safe space for stylists to be themselves, to have creative freedom and be surrounded by a group of like-minded stylists who genuinely care and cheer each other on every single day.
I am a total hair nerd and (if I'm being honest...) a total over-thinker too, so when I started learning about the science behind our hair and hair colour at college, I completely geeked-out and I knew straight away that this was where my passion lied.
Being married to a farmer (not as fun as it sounds btw), a mum of 2 lively boys and a labrador - life at home can get a little hectic; so I love the freedom and flexibility to spend more time with my family that this industry gives me. I love to read - currently obsessing over the ACOTAR series! I enjoy listening to music (mostly old school rnb - but also love a bit of country too) and sinking my teeth into a juicy Netflix series (love hearing my client's recommendations) On my days off, I enjoy Pilates and my weekends and evenings are usually filled with football games, tournaments, training etc.
My favourite thing to do behind the chair is creating seamless, effortless, natural, low-maintenance hair colour for my clients - mostly blondes. I believe that your hair colour should compliment and enhance your natural beauty, while giving you the freedom to go longer between salon appointments and keeping your hair healthy.
There's no better feeling as a hairstylist, than seeing the joy and confidence radiating from my clients as they walk out of the salon.
